About
Welcome!
We’re delighted to offer you a very warm welcome! Our club has thrived since 1952, providing a safe, fun, learning and competitive environment for about 200 or so members. We’re committed to provide high standards at a low cost. We have been a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Recognised Training Centre (RTC) since 2002, which means that we meet the high standards for training set by the RYA. However, we are run entirely by volunteers – which ensures the lowest possible costs for our members.
We run a programme of racing for those who enjoy competitive sailing – and a programme of training for adults of all ages, children and young people – using our fleet of four types of training boats. We have a fleet of power boats and qualified drivers to provide safety and for training. We do train members in power-boat driving and safety boat operation.
Our boat launching and recovery facilities are easily accessible and safe, we have winches for heavier craft and we nurture a strong culture of mutual help.
We own our site, buildings and the lagoon in front of the clubhouse: this ensures we are independent and able to further develop our facilities. The Club has benefited from support from the Welsh Government via SportWales, from Powys County Council, and others.
