Development Days and boat hire
We created "Development Days" to enable members (adults and young people) who have completed training courses who have reached Level / Stage 2 to consolidate and build on their new-found skills - using club boats at no additional cost (or their own), with safety-cover and expert advice on-hand to draw upon - for rigging, launch and recovery of boats, and sailing-technique. There are a number of these in the Club's sailing programme - usually on a Saturday.
Participants book in advance in order that we are appropriately resourced (boats, instructors, safety boat team, etc).
Club training boats do not need to be hired by Development Day participants, however they can be hired for use at other times. Those looking to hire a club-boat must have achieved Level/Stage 2 minimum, they must be sailing in safe/appropriate conditions (consistent with their ability, at the discretion of instructors available on-site on the day), and a club safety boat must be on-hand.
Those looking to participate in Club Development Days - or hire Club training boats post-training qualification - should contact the Training Principal.
The Club does not hire training boats to members (or guests) who have not completed a recent training course. We reserve the right to decline hire or loan of a training boat.
