Website-Builder Recognised in Club Award

  • Alex Frost with Llangorse Sailing Club's Griffin Trophy

Member, Alex Frost, has been awarded Llangorse Sailing Club's Griffin Trophy for creating the Club's new website in 2025. The Griffin Trophy is awarded by the Club's Executive Committee to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the club "off the water." The trophy was donated by long-standing member, Nicky Griffin, in honour of her late Mother, Pat Griffin.

Presenting the trophy at the Club's annual pre-season members' lunch, Vice Commodore, Robert Dangerfield explained, "It's vital nowadays that any organisation have a fully-comprehensive, informative and appealing website which engages with members and acts as a shop-window reflecting the organisation's activity and culture."

"Already, this year, the new website has attracted many more inquiries about membership and training than we have had in previous years. Information about the club - how to join, take part, sign-up for training - is easy to find and manage."

Robert Dangerfield added, "The Griffin Trophy helps us remember a much-loved past member in Pat Griffin. She was a great inspiration to many, a great woman-sailor (in big and small boats), and also a great supporter of those who - behind the scenes - make the Club the great little organisation it is. We miss her very much."
