How to find Llangorse Sailing Club
Arriving from the north
From the A438 or A479 – which meet at Talgarth, turn onto the B4560 at the Gwernyfed Rugby Club roundabout. A brown sign indicates a right-hand turn towards the lake – drive past the village shop/café and turn left - again signposted – into a narrow (but short) lane towards the Common.
Arriving from the west
From the A40 departing Brecon towards Abergavenny, turn left signposted Groesffordd. Before arriving in that village turn right towards Llanfihangel Tal-y-llyn and Llangorse. Turn right into the narrow lane towards the Common.
Arriving from the south and east
From the A40, turn right at the war memorial in the village of Bwlch onto the B4560 towards Llangorse. Drive through the village, turn left (signposted to the lake) shortly past the Red Lion pub. After the shop and café, turn left into the narrow lane as above.
Approaching the Club
The narrow lane is short and does include a passing-place: do take care! Having crossed the cattle-grid, pass the Lakeside shop and café on the left and continue on the lane adjacent to the Common. The club site gate can be clearly seen across the Common on the right. The lane bears round to the club gate.
The Club gate
All members receive the combination lock codes for the gate, clubhouse and changing rooms with their membership.
Visitors should note that the gate is always closed to keep out the horses on the Common – and visitors must close the gate following entry. When the Club is active, the gate combination lock is left open (but scrambled). Visitors who arrive when the club is not active should be aware that the gate will be locked. Visitors to Club events and open meetings will find the gate unlocked on the scheduled days of the events. Those who wish to deliver a boat on days prior to the event may do so by arrangement with a member of our team.
There is sufficient space to park within the Club site.
