Dinghy Instructors' course a great success at Llangorse
Four new DInghy Instructors (“DIs”) have been trained and qualified at LSC this week including our very own Guy Davison - RYA Instructor Trainer, Hannah Cockle course-leader, says that she's impressed with the trainee DIs and the facilities at the Club.

In an intensive 5-day long course - in some testing conditions - trainees learned how to instruct and develop trainees’ knowledge both safely and having fun. They learned how to carry out health and safety risk assessments and a range of formal teaching-methods for key aspects of sailing. The course is carried-out both in the classroom and on the water, using both double-hander and single-hander boats. In addition, trainee instructor have to demonstrate high competence in dinghy-sailing and power-boat driving too.
“The Comets and Toppers are just the job to put the new DIs through their paces!” Hannah says, Llangorse’s Chief Instructor, Richard McCulloch was on hand to assist, and Rob Dangerfield and David White helped provide extra support.
Richard McCulloch says, "Guy's new qualification will further boost the Club's ability to run courses next season. And we hope very much Llangorse will host further RYA instructor courses in the future."
"Members: look out for the dates of our programme of training courses in the New Year."
